その後も私はFirefoxのテテさんビルドを使い続け、Operaなどもサブで使いつつも今回も3.5にあわせて早速使用させていただいております。

最近の私的ビルド専用DLLについての疑問なのですが、SSE2版を私は使っているのですが、私的ビルド専用DLLは今はもう入れなくても良いようなものでしょうか?

タイムスタンプとかから判断してそれ相当の物が最初からアーカイブされている気がするので、ここ最近は入れていないのですが。

それでは今後ともリリースの度に素早い対応でお忙しいと思いますが、頑張ってください。

and copy the the files from Tete's Firefox over the Portable Firefox in \FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox

But when u use this on different PCs than think on SSE or SSE2 because CPU ;)

Firefox 3.5 is scheduled for release by the end of the month, so I will skip the RC3.

Firefox 3.5rc2 build2 was already uploaded into mozilla's FTP site, so I decided not to build rc1.

なんかもう正式版が出てからでいいような気がしてきました。

.pgcはPGOカウントファイルというもので、ガイド付き最適化(PGO)を適用したビルドを作る過程で必要となるファイルです。PGOを適用したビルドを作ってしまえば後は用済みです。

(objdir)/dist/bin/ を圧縮しているのでしょうか？
それよりは、
make -C (objdir)/browser/installer
をした上で、 (objdir)/dist/firefox/ を圧縮する方が良さそうです。
メリット1. 余分なファイルは取り除かれています。
メリット2. たくさんの xpt ファイルが 1 つのファイルにリンクされています。起動時に、たくさんのファイルにアクセスするよりも早いはずです。https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29658 によると、13% 早かったそうです。当時と今とでは分母がだいぶ違っているだろうとは思いますが。

I tried overwriting the latest official firefox-3.5pre in the official firefox-3.5b4. As a result, I have verified that the problem you pointed out occurs on official Firefox, too.

To be specific I was using a Firefox 3.5b5pre build, updating automatically after every day's nightly release.

I understand now. Once we use recent Firefox 3.5pre, the structure of places.sqlite instantly changes, the compatibility will be lost on the older versions of Firefox.

I had referred to the JavaScript of Bug 492379 and made the program for downgrading places.sqlite. If dropping the places.sqlite file on the downgrade_places.exe, the program will downgrade it. Sqlite3.dll is not included with this zip file. Please make a backup of the places.sqlite before trying this program.

In my environment, fticorep.exe is operating properly. The program will change the "program icon" which is displayed on Windows Explorer, but it cannot change the program's title bar icon, etc. By putting main-window.ico on the following path, it is possible to change Firefox's title bar icon:
(program's root)\chrome\icons\default\

I have not been able to confirm the occurrence of the other problems you mentioned. If I can recreate the problems, it would be relatively easy to find the cause of them.

V8ベンチマークの場合は３回の平均で下記のような誤差程度の違いでした。

また、shigeさんが書かれているベンチマークでも誤差程度の差でした。

SSE2:490 Points

日記の方でteteさんが書かれているように遅くなる事はありませんでしたが、特に早くなることもありませんでした(涙)

Peacekeeperベンチマーク結果。

SSE2：502 Points

3.1b3（新規プロファイル）の
SSE ：752 Points
SSE2：731 Points
から差が縮まったけど、やはりAMD-K8系はSSE版の方が速いようです。

CPUのアーキテクチャーによって、/arch:SSE2コンパイラオプションの使用が効果的だったり、裏目に出たりするのかもしれませんね。

SunSpiderをAthlon LE-1640B 2.7GHz（常用プロファイル）で何度か測ってみたのですが、
SSE2版の方がスコアがよかったです。
平均して
SSE ：3700ms台
SSE2：3600ms台
でした。

Mozilla謹製のDromaeoはテストが長すぎて諦めました。
一回15分?て・・・

Dromaeoは時間がかかりすぎますよね(汗)。最適化する箇所を探すのに利用しようかと思ったのに、長すぎて途中でやめてしまいました…。

To know the profile information about Firefox, please open the following file with Notepad, etc.

The file includes profile's information, like names, or paths. If one profile has "Default=1", it would be a default profile.

You can use -P option to open a specific profile. For example:

I have been able to reproduce the bug you pointed out, but I can't search the cause of the bug now. I am not free for a few days. I would like to check it when I have finished other job.

After checking into the matter, I suspect that PGO may have caused the freeze.
I built PGO builds without my patches. But the problem came and went depending on how I ran the PGI builds for collecting the profiling data. I have found the problem occurs in js3250.dll.
I hope I can find a way around the problem.

I have found the problem is preventable through the following way.

情報ありがとうございます。Bug 478901で対処したようです。しかし現時点では、正式リリースされたビルド(ナイトリービルド以外)でこの脆弱性に対処済みなのは、Firefox 3.0.7だけのようです。

とりあえず、今回の脆弱性に対処したThunderbird 2.0.0.21 (build1)をビルドしてアップロードしました。

残るはFirefox 3.1 Beta 3ですが、まだパッチを作っていません。Beta 2から大きくソースコードが変化している場合は、パッチ作成に手間取るかもしれません。

3.1β3のリリースは日本時間だと13日午前6時のようですね。
昨年12月8日のβ2リリースからやっとという感じです。
β4からは3.5になるみたいですがなんか迷走気味に感じてしまいます。

当初のスレッドのタイトルと直接は関係ないのですが，Beta 3の話題が出たので書き込みを・・・。

Beta 3からはプライバシー情報を消去する（サニタイズ）前に確認するオプションがなくなってしまったのですね
まぁ，意図的にメニューバーからサニタイズする場合は確認が出るのですが，終了時に消去するオプションを有効にしている場合に自動的に消されてしまうようなのでちょっと不便な感じです。
（たとえば，3.0.7を使っていて一時的に3.1 Beta 3で見てみたい場合など，サニタイズせずに終了したい場合など）

これは，テテさんのビルドの問題ではないのでなんですが，終了時に履歴を消去するオプションってあまり使われていないのだろうか・・・。

私の場合は、履歴等の削除は手動で行っています。ショートカットキー (Ctrl+Shift+Del)でClear Recent Historyダイアログボックスを開いて削除してますです。

Well if the tinkering is successful, I am sure the patches will be of great help in solving the scroll lag of Fx3 (Fx2 did not have such lag). However, not many people are affected by this bug, and therefore it seems that nobody is paying attention to it even though there should be ZERO problems with scrolling in a browser in the first place.

The inaction over at Mozilla is a tad disappointing, because they definitely don't seem to see it that way.

I think so, too. I'm sure this is one of the performance bottlenecks of Fx3. I want Mozilla to make further efforts to speed up rendering speed.

MySoundの方は、空き容量が残り数MBでしたので、当初は音質を少し落としたMP3データをアップロードしていました。現在はどちらの「勇者の故郷」も、lameの-V 0 (VBR最高音質)でエンコードしたものです。

環境によって、不具合が出たり出なかったりするようです。複数のご報告を頂いたので、バグがあることは間違いないと思います。

最近になってパスワードがうまく保存できてないことに気付きましたが、
修正版にしたらバッチリ保存できてます。

画像の縮小や、JavaScriptでライフゲームなどの処理で、
はっきりと速さを体感できるので使わせてもらっています。

どうもすみませんでした。Cランタイムをいじったのが不具合の原因だったのかもしれません。

I uploaded the previous build (2009-01-31). I would like to check and find the cause of the bug from now.

For experiment, I installed the official build of firefox 3.0.6 and 3.1 beta2, then got some results.

FF 3.0.6 works fine but 3.1 beta2 has the same problem about not to autosave password.

When I check the saved password window in FF 3.1b2, all passwords are gone but 3.0.6 shows the correct result.

I guess 3.1b2 having bugs in reading signons3.txt.

After long time try and error, I think I have find out the root cause that autosave password malfunction and why u can't reproduce the error.

Last time I used the -safe-mode to check the problem with all your 3.1b2 private builds and still had the same situation. But that worked fine with official 3.0.6 build, i think this is a bug in 3.1b2 and posted my guess.

After a while, I created a new profile to test 3.1b2 again then the function worked correctly...orz.

What's different between 3.0 and 3.1 about autosave password? When i google it, I realized ff3.1 has changed the file format of saving password from signons3.txt and key3.db to signons.sqlite.

But i used your private build 3.1b2-20081226 that worked fine before upgrading to 3.1b2-20090204. What's going on?

I think 3.1b2-20090204 broken my signons.sqlite then made autosave password malfunction, thought the signons3.txt and key3.db were correct. So that changed different 3.1b2 and used -safe-mode can't resolve the problem, it always accessed the broken signons.sqlite.

When i deleted the broken signons.sqlite, FF will reproduce a correct one from signons3.txt and key3.db.

I itemized the procedure for recovering the passwords of Firefox 3.1b2 from the signons3.txt of Frefox 3.0.x:

1. Close all of Firefox.
2. Open profile folder.
3. Make sure signons3.txt file exists.
4. Back up signons.sqlite file.
5. Rename or delete signons.sqlite file.
6. Run Firefox 3.1 Beta.

Maybe 20090204 private build not damage my signons.sqlite. I think there are some changes happened to data structure of signons.sqlite during 3.1b2 development.

So someone downloaded your 3.1b2 private build on November 2008, then upgraded to new version on January 2009, he may encountered the same situation of mine. The new version FF can't recognize the old format in signons.sqlite, that made the autosave password malfunction, unless he install FF with a whole new profile.

I just find a new bug in 20081226, 20090131, 20090206 three versions. Whether I close how many tabs, there is no response in "Recently Closed Tabs". The list is always blank.

In my environment, I can not confirm the problem at the moment. If it is the inherent problem of my builds, and I could find the cause of problem, I would like to fix it.

I just try 20090131 build again and can't reproduce the bug happened at last day...<?>.

For system optimization, I had disabled some winxp system services for a period but the system became unstable last night, so I enabled these services again. Now all things seem ok, orz.

Thank you for checking out my build's behavior. If there was the bug in my build, I have the impression that it was included in my mozcrt19.dll. Therefore, I have attached old mozcrt19.dll (which had been attached to 2008122618 build) to current build.

うちのFirefox 3.0.5ビルドでhotmailを利用する場合、general.useragent.extra.firefoxの値を「Minefield/3.0.5」から「Firefox/3.0.5」に書き換える必要があります。「Firefox」の部分は大文字小文字を区別しますので、「FireFox」等でも警告メッセージが表示されます。

まさにご指摘の通り、指定箇所が「FireFox/3.0」と大文字になっておりました。

Please change the value of general.useragent.extra.firefox from Minefield/3.1b2 to Firefox/3.1b2. Unfortunately, some sites do not support the UA string such as "Minefield".

Has nothing to do with UA string:-(

I think facebook.com does not support "Minefield".
Facebook.com uses the following script to check UA, but the only time ua.firefox() returns true is when UA string contains "Firefox" or "GranParadiso" or "Iceweasel"...

その方法でOKかと思います。application.iniにもBuildIDがあるので、一応そちらも書き換えた方が良いかもしれません。
